Our Story

We are an occupational therapist and a speech-language therapist team.  We met while working at a specialized elementary school in Manhattan.  Out of a shared belief in a holistic approach and a desire to learn from one another, a friendship was born.  Combining our scopes allows us to better understand and support each child in our group. Our small class size ensures that we can maximize the benefits of our combined experience.

Andria and Arefa are both CPR certified and trained in the SOS Approach to Feeding.  The SOS Approach to Feeding is a developmental feeding therapy program that allows children to interact with and learn about foods in a playful, non-stressful way.

Andria Procopio M.S. OTR/L, CHHC

Andria earned her Bachelors of Science degree in Health and Exercise Science from The College of New Jersey in 2009. As her passion for health and wellness grew, she pursued her interest in occupational therapy.  She received her Master of Science degree in Occupational Therapy from Seton Hall University in 2013. Andria has worked with both adults and children with disabilities in clinical, home, and school-based settings.  Her personal experience of living with food sensitivities and an autoimmune condition sparked Andria to dive head first into the world of holistic healing and alternative medicine. In 2015, she completed her Holistic Health Coaching Certification from The Institute for Integrative Nutrition in NYC to develop a deeper understanding of the role of nutrition in improving her own quality of life and that of her clients.  Andria founded A Well Fed Mind to combine traditional occupational therapy treatment approaches with functional medicine and nutrition to increase therapy outcomes of those with learning disabilities, social emotional difficulties, and sensory processing issues. Andria specializes in autism spectrum disorders, ADHD, sensory processing disorder, learning disabilities and developmental delays. She works with children and families in their homes and consults with local schools.
